Product Control Planner Do you have strong background in managing production schedules and are interested in working in a progressive global enterprise? As a member of the Production team, the ultimate success of the position is measured by, or linked with, contributions made to the following: 1) Successfully managing responsibilities and projects and ensuring proper execution to meet deadlines
2) Continuously striving to enhance and improve all production capabilities and to ensure a brand right, quality product that contributes to the overall growth of PTI
3) Successfully managing the production schedule and demands of our customers, while minimizing the cost of excess materials, inventory, and overtime of employees.
The Production Control Planner coordinates efforts between Sales, Purchasing and Operation to develop the short to mid-term production schedule for Chesapeake Bay Candle facility. Position is a key resource to assist in the identification, selection and implementation of a future ERP/ MRP software system.
The essential role of this position is to:

Convert sales forecasts into production schedules and determine the appropriate finished goods inventory required to meet business needs.

Lead daily production planning meetings, monitor production performance to plan and reinforce customer commitments to internal management team.

Develops recommendations regarding operational efficiency to improve throughput, on-time delivery and cost savings.

Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
The position includes but is not limited to the following duties and is subject to change to meet organizational requirements:

Implement a fully functional production control infrastructure

Development of the production schedule as a result of MRP output, taking into consideration the available capacity, material and contractual delivery commitments

Manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity

Maintenance and accuracy of data in MRP/ERP system (input and issuance from inventory, labor reporting, startup of RFQ and quoting modules, etc.)

Coordinate material requirements with the production schedule to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.

Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules

Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems

Ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed to meet the schedule.

Responsible for the analysis of sales orders with respect to capacity planning and material requirements

Scheduling of equipment and personnel to meet production requirements
-
Prepare work orders or purchase requisitions for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements

Review excess material for possible consumption in other jobs

Establish and monitor overall factory performance for production

Monitor timelines from receipt of raw materials to customer expectations in order to ensure on time delivery

Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels of finished goods and raw materials that are on hand.
